THE CHRISTCURCH DIOCESAN SYNOD.

[BY telegraph.—PßESS ASSOCIATION.] Curistchurcu, Tuesday. A special meeting of the Diocesan Synod, was opened this afternoon, to consider the subject of paying property tax on the English loan. Bishop Julius presided, and urged the Synod to agree to promote a bill in Parliament, authorising the payment of arrears of the tax, interest and costs thereon, and of future tax out of Church estates. The report of the Church property trustee, recommended a similar course, and notice of motion for carrying it into effect was given.
