A protest was also received from Motukaraka, but alter the explanation of the circumstances the board sustained the election. ~ of NmooLs.—An appliration for the establishment.of a school at K-irikiri, Thames, was deterred for the report of the inspector. DBrvra&CßßEK.—This committee asked for increased school accommodation. Mr. Allright reported that it was necessary, and that the cost would be about i-Hvi. It was agreed to instruct the architect to prepare plans and specifications tor the work. A complaint was received from the p»me committee as to a leakage in the roof of the teacher's residence, and want of repairs to the fencing. -Mr. Allright estimated the cost as £79 lbs, and it was agreed to have the work done. Ohivbwai.—Tenders for repairs of the Wcher's dwelling at Ohinewai were opened. There were eight tenders, and chat of Mr. H. Pitts (£207 10s) was accepted. The highest was £'I~A. The estimate was '210. Fern Plat.— The committee applied for e new school, as the building at present used would be required by the owner in August. A report no: quite favourable to the application was received from the in - spector, and it was agreed to defer the consideration of the application for the present. Kauakraxga (Thames).—The committee applied to have a class-room erected at the boys' school. The chairman said he had consulted the inspectors, and found that j there was sufficient school accommodation j at the Thames. On the motion of Mr. j Monk, the application was declined for the present. Appointments. — rhe following appointments were authorised :—To Kopuru, Mr. D. Gamer Jones: Patumahoe, Mr. A. C. Dunning ; Mangere Bridge, Mrs. Woodward : Greerton, Miss M. Tuthill : Taraunui, Mis*B.C. Anderson : Omahu (Thames), Mr. R. H. Patersou. Miscellaneous. — A large number of applications from country schools were re- , ceived and dealt with.
