MASONIC.
LODGE UNITED SERVICE, 421 I.C. Lodge United Service 421 I.C. held their regular monthly meeting in the Freemason's Hall last evening. There was a large attendance. Amongst thoso present were : Brother A. S. Kussell, D.G.M., N.Z.C ; Brother M. Niccol, Grand Superintendent of Works, N.Z.C. ; Brother W. H. Cooper, Grand Assistant Secretary, N.Z.C.; Brother S. D. If anna, W.M., Lodge Ara; Brother Page, R. W.M., Lodge St. Andrew ; Brother Hewson, P.M. ; Brothers Ellison, Finiay, Grant, and several other visiting brethren. Lodge St. Andrew attended and was received as a lodge. Brother W. Craig, W.M., was in the chair. The lodge was opened under the I.C, and the minutes of last regular meeting were duly confirmed. Several communications were then read and received. The W.M. intimated that he would close the lodge under the Irish Constitution and re-open under dispensation received from the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. The lodge being opened under the new dispensation, the business of the evening was proceeded with, viz., election of W.M. and officers for the ensuing year. The following officers were duly elected :— W.M., Brother G. 11. Leaning; S.W., Brother H. Ellison ; J.W., Brother J. liarley treasurer, Brother P.M. .J. W. Ellison; secretary, Brother P.M. T. W. Allen ; S.D., Brother A. Erickson ; J.D., Brother M. H. Keesing; 1.G., Brother J. Criglington; 8.C., Brother P.M. T. W. Allen ; organist, Brother F. Reid ; stewards, Brothers A. 0Carter and N. F. Larsen ; tyler, Brother Captain E. Tonge. Addresses were then given by Brother A. S. Russell, D.G.M., Brother Niccol, Grand Superintendent of Works, and Brother Cooper, Grand Assistant Secretary. Brother Ellison, P.M., moved that a vote of thanks be recorded in the minutes of the lodge tor the addresses and attendance of the distinguished visitors. On the motion of Brother Craig, W.M., it was resolved that brethren wishing to affiliate with the lodge be admitted on payment of the registration fee only. The business of the lodge being e/jded, the lodge was closed in the, usual form.
