SUICIDE OF A SHAREBROKER.
A si'Xßatiov was caused in Adelaide on the receipt of intelligence that Mi - . 11. L. Beddome, son of Mr. 8. Beddome, the police magistrate of Adelaide, had committed suicide. lie went to his olliee in (jrenfellstrcet, about eight a. 111., and locked the door. Nothing more was known until ten o'clock, when his wife, being alarmed that ho had not been home on the previous night, went to the office, and opening it by a key which she was able to obtain possession of, found him Bitting on ftflhair with his feet on a table, and .snot through the breast, a revolver being in hi# right hand. An open letter was found lying; on the table in ironb of him. Mr. Bedaorne was about 38 year# ofy age, and had latterly been doin°; business as a broker. Recently ho suffered heavy losses in connection with forward contracts in Broken Hill and other stocks, baring bonghfe when the market wm inflated, and been compelled to bnko possession during the depression. The unfortunate man was a general favourite on account of his gentlemanly demeanour and affability. He was married to a daughter of the fate Hon. J. Barrow, M.L.C., and leaves a widow and family.
