t The Saltwater Baths in Albert-street are very popular and well patronised. Last week 2000 visitors passed through the Baths, and 10,000 for the month of February, being only equalled by February, 1880, when the Baths were first opened. The announcement of tho Victorian Minister of Agriculture that a prize 6f £300 would be awarded for the invention of a cheap means of cooling a chamber for the reservation of milk, cream, and butter, has (says the Age) brought a number of competitors into the field. The Secretary of Agriculture has received letters from 112 different persons signifying their intention of competing for the prize, and requesting to bo furnished with a copy of tno conditions. The latter provides that a competitor must erect a chamber 10 feet square, with walls of 10 feet, which will reduce tho temperature to 50 and to remain at that for not loss than 10 hours, without the aid of ice, chemicals, . or machinery, and tho temperature outside being 120 degrees. As soon as Mr. Dow return to tfown he will appoint judges to investigate and tost the different inventions entered for the competition. What Shall I Drink ?—The La ncob says "We have tested the Montuerr.it Llmo-friut Juice, and found It sound and free from adulteration. It is a far more wholesome drink than any form of alcohol."
