London, January 17. The weekly returns of the Bank of England show the total reserve in notes and bullion to be £10,702,000. The proportion of the reserve to liabilities per cent. : Consols are active at 97]-. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock is active at 107. Australian wheat, ex warehouse, is quiet at 39s ; New Zealand long-berried wheat, ex store, is quiet at 37s 6d. Sugar: Best German beet, lis 6d; Java, 15s.
