POLICE COURT.— [Before Messrs. H. P. Moody and D. Robertson, J.Ps.] Alleged Provoking Language. — Alice Carroll was charged with using provoking language towards John Braslan on January 13. Mr. O'Meagher appeared for the plaintiff and Mr. Madden for the defendant. John Braslan deposed that he had been in the employ of the defendant's bus--band, helping him to sell fish. The defendant had several times used indecent and provoking language on January.ls. David Sullivan deposed that on Monday night - last he heard the defendant using indecent) ' and filthy language towards John Braslan. John Blon deposed that defendant had given an order to the plaintiff, which he refused to obey. The defendant had used no indecent language. After hearing further evidence for the defence the Bench decided to dismiss the case, as the evidence was so conflicting, each party to pay their own costs.
