SIX CHILDREN DROWNED.

Received October 16, 1 a.m. Sydney, October 15. A sad accident occurred on the Murray River to-day. A man named Gurney was rowing on the river in a boat containing his wife and seven children, when suddenly a mass of earth fell from the bank, knocking the bottom out of the ')oat. All the occupa.nts were thrown into the water, and six of the children were drowned. Gurney himself was seriously injured, and his condition is considered critical. Mrs. Gurney received a severe shock, and her mind is unhinged.
