ASSAULTING A CHINAMAN.

[BY TELKORAPH.—PKKSS ASSOCIATION, j Dunkdi.v, Tuesday. Six lada, whose ages ranged from 14 to 17, were to-day fined for assaulting a Chinaman. They wore tho riugloadura of a gang who, meeting John, chased him, pelting him with stones, by one of which he was severely cut. One boy named Seale was fined £'2, and on another charge £1, half to go to the Chinaman. Tho boys were evidently members of an organised gang of larrikins. They had tried bo intimidate one witness by threatening to give him " a doing" if he gave evidence.
