A deputationjfrom the Royal Agricultural Socioty, consisting of Sir Jacob Wilson, Mr. Walter Gilbey, and Mr. E. Clarke, accompanied by Mr. Ernest Ilart, who were in Paris in connection with the Agricultural Congress at the French Exhibition, paid a visit to the Pasteur Institute, in order to observe the method adopted by the distinguished savant in vaccinating for anthrax. Inoculation for anthrax was only commenced in 1882, but no less than MO,OOO animals were vaccinated last year in France, and the mortality among them has been reduced by nine-tenths. Farms in the Beauce district, which were of late years of no value, have now regained their original importance, and the companies now refuse to insure animals which have not been subjected to M. Pasteur's treatment. Already 214 English patients have been treated for rabies in the Pasteur Institute. The English visitors were conducted over the institute by-Dr. Reux, who explained to them the systems of treatment pursued in regard to this disorder. Another bargain this week.
