Thb Customs duties to-day arnountod to £1035 10s Mi The barque Cabarfeidh, bo well known to Aucklanders whilst sailing under the familiar flag of Messrs. atone Brothers, was to-day sold by auction at Messrs. Tonka and Co.'s mart for £325 to Mr. Seymour 1. George, on bohalf of tho Waihi Gold mining Company. The bidding started at £150, and proceeded slowly to the amount named, when no advance being forthcoming she was knocked down as above. It will l>e remembered that the Cnberfeidh narrowly escaped destruction some months ago by running on to Tory Shoal, Kaipaxa Heads, and niter being discharged of her cargo of timber at HelensWile was brought to Auckland for repairs. After being surveyed some difference arose concerning the advisability of repairiusr her, between the underwriters and the owners, with the result that she wae sold as she lay at the wharf.' At Messrs. Cochrane and Sons' mart today a four-roomed cottage in NewtOu Koad with allotment 39 by 100 was sold for £190 ; 140 acres at Pnhoi, partly improved and in grass, with a moiety in an adjoining 110 acres, realised £295 and 100 acres at Waiwera, fenced and partly improved, with cottage, brought £115.
