ENTERTANMENTS.
The Peopled Concert at tlio City Hall on Saturday evening was well attended, considering the counter attractions. A good variety programme was providod, and many of the song 3 were encored.
The programme at the Sailors' Rest on Saturday evening last was provided by the Gem of' Auckland Lodge, 1.0. G.T. The attendance was very good, and Mr. Preston occupied the chair. The programme was a good and varied ono, and comprised the following items : —Oponing ode by the members of the lodge ; song, " The Amateur Fireman," Brother Raynor; recitation, " What Temperance lias Done For John And I," Sirftur Harrison; song, " It's All Over Now With The Ladies," Brother Andereon (encored); .song, Sister Mills (encored); recitation, "A Real English Cufitoin," Brother Cook; song, "The Last Sweot Words of Mother," Brother Howell; song, " Will Your Hoarb be True to Me," Sister Tabrura (encored); recitation, " Meg and I," Mr. Preston; song, "Only One," Brother Raynor (encored); song, "The Fisherman and his Child," Brother Howell. The usual Saturday evening entertainment in connection with the Total Abstinence Society -was hold on Saturday in the Temperance Hnll. Mr. J. 0. Robinson presided. The programme opened with a pianoforte solo, " Huvolock's March," Mr. Stodart; duet, " Tried," Misses White and Cutloy; "Silver Moonlight Wioda are Blowing," Misses Marsson. Songs were rendered by Misses Whita and Maraou and Messrs. Maraden and Blofct. Readings were given by Messrs. Oswald and S. White aud recitations by Mr. Oswald, Maxtor Marson, and Miss A. Robinson. A pianoforte solo by Mr. closed the programme. Micses M. Marson and Tremain played the accoin|)animents.
