Received July 20, 1.40 a.m. STORMS AND WRECKS. Sydney, July 22. Alt. the vessels driven ashore in Byron Bay during the recent storm became total wrecks, except the Agnes, which has been got off. Further casualties are reported along the coast, the schooner Jessie Matilda being wrecked at Ballina, and ketch Lady Lome at Clarence River. In the latter instance one of the crew was drowned. In the Richmond district a heavy fall of rain has been experienced, 25 inches being registered. Great damage has been done to the sugar crop. Brisbane, July 22. Four of the prominent members of the Maori team have been suspended from further play with the team on the grounds that a betting swindle was attempted on Saturday by endeavouring to lose the match.
