PARNELLISM AND CRIME.
PROPOSED SPECIAL COMMITTEE. Pjm Association.—Electric. Telegraph.-Copyright. London, July 21. The Irish leader intends to demand the appoint ment of a special committee of the House of Commons to inquire into the connection between the Irish Patriotic Union and the articles on Parnellism and Crime," which appeared in the Times. Mr. Parnell in a letter to the Dublin Freeman states he would never have entered the Court had lie not understood the Commission would inquire into the " Pigott conspiracy." The freedom of the city of Edinburgh has been conferred on Mr. Parnell. Responding to an enthusiastic reception, he said Ireland would thankfully accept Mr. Gladstone's scheme of settlement as an end of the strife of centuries.
