ECCLESIASTICAL.
At St. Paul's to-morrow the services will be festival in character. Holy Communion will be administered at 8 a.m. and at mid-day. There will also be a children's service at 3.30 p.m. Anthems noted for the day are Hopkins' "Lift Up Your Heads" and Stainer's " Leave Us Not."
The Bishop of Auckland will hold a confirmation service at Holy Trinity Church, Otahuhu, at 11 o'clock a.m. At Epiphany the Rev. Dr. O'Callaghan will preach. In the evening the subject is " The Jews and the Messiah.'
The usual services will be held at St. Mary's, St. Thomas', and All Saints'. Foreign Mission Sunday will be observed at the Devonport Wesleyan Church tomorrow, when the Rev. Isaac Rooney (from New Britain) will conduct the morning service, and the Rev. Mr. Lawrence (from the Hervey Group) in the evening. At Pitt-street and Ponsonby Wesleyan churches the usual services, and at Grafton Road, the Rev. Mr. Rooney and Daniel Tomokait will address the children of the Sunday-school. The "Rev. James Paterson, missionary from Scotland, will preach morning and evening at the Devonport Presbyterian Church. At St. Peter's. Surrey Hills, the Rev. R. Sommerville will preach on " Personal Investigation in the Search after Truth," and "Mocking Religious Fervour." At the Onehunga Wesleyan Church services will be held in connection with foreign missions. Morning, Mr. Fry ; and evening, Rev. Isaac Rooney, missionary from Duke of York Island. The Rev. James Paterson will preach and five an account of his travels at the Opera louse to-morrow afternoon at three o'clock.
At the Tabernacle, the Rev. T. Spurgeon will preach. Morning, " And Peter evening. The Enemy Silenced." The Rev. \V. Lay cock preaches at Franklin Road Primitive Methodist Church. Morning, "An Unrevealed Christevening. "An Important Question." At Alex-anara-street, Rev. A. J. Smith. Morning, "A Footlight;" evening, A Mother Opinion of her Son." At the Bercsfovd - street Congregational Church the Rev. J. Chew will preach ; morning, "Profitable for Reproof"; evening, " Ensnared in His Own Net." The Rev. H. J. Lewis will conduct service at the Newton Congregational Church, and continue in the morning bin lectures on " Job": evening, " The Conversion of Cornelius."
Mr. George Aldridge will lecture to-mor-row evening on the visions of Zechariah " The Candlestick and the Olive Trees."
The Rev. Dr. Hooper will deliver an address to young men to-morrow afternoon in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms, at 3 o'clock, on the "Religions of India." As Dr. Hooper has spent many years in India his lecture will contain valuable information.
The subject for to-morrow afternoon at the Conversational Bible Class at Wesley Hall is The Emigration of Abraham." The Rev. H. T. Robjohns, 8.A., the deputation from the British and Foreign Bible Society, will preach in the Pitt-street Wesleyan Church morrow at 11 a.m. He will also deliver an address at the City Hall Sunday evening at S p.m. The annual meeting of the Auckland Auxiliary of the British and Foreign Bible Society will be held on Monday next at 7-30. in the Tabernacle. Sir William Fox will preside. Addresses will be delivered by the Revs. Dr. Hooper, T. Spurgeon, and H. T. Robjohns, B.A. (the deputation from the parent society). Friends of the Bible Society are earnestly requested to attend.
