CHRISTCHURCH NORTH ELECTION.

[BY TKLERRAPH. —rRKSS ASSOCIATION.] Cjiristchurch, Friday. Mr. E. W. Humphries, candidate for Christchurch North, addressed a large meeting in St. Luke's school to-night, and received a vote of confidence. Ho announced himself a supporter of the present Government, and in favour of a reduction of members to 70, but opposed to the formation of small charitable aid districts. He accepted the present Customs tariff, but reserved the right of considering any proposed alteration thereto on their merits.
