RESIGNATION OF SIR JULIUS VOgEL.

In a private letter received last mail from Sir Julius Vogel, he states he has forwarded to the Speaker of the House of Representatives his' resignation as representative for Christchurch North. Sir Julius , will not return to the colony for a year, and then riot with the intention of re-entering politics. Christciiurch, Wednesday, m Ina private letter written to a friend in Christchurch, received by the English mail this} morning, Sir ■ J. Vogel states he : proposes to return to New Zealand, though not at present, in' deference to the wishes of Lady Vogel and his family, who desire that- he should remain with them .in England. 1 , 4
