, , DUNEDIN OATS. ; , i ; Dunedin, April 24.—A" modatoly fair demand continues to exist, but the waut of tonnage prevents .shippers from operating to Hie extent that they would do if they could only get their purchases away. The holidays have also interfered with business to somo extent, and deliveries have beau somewhat heavy. The bulk of arrivals had to be taken into store. This week's quotations are somewhat on a par with those of last week's ; but while there is a fair inquiry, the tendency is towards lower prices. Prime milling, 2s 7d to Sis 7id; best bright short., feed, 2s 7d to 2s 7d ; medium and carelessly dressed, S.s 2d to 2s 3d, ex store., ' . ' ' ( JO HN SON VILE" ~ ' Messrs? F. It. Jackson & Co. report on Wednesday : —An average supply of beef was yarded to day. The cattle on the whole were plain and light. Sheep were penned in rather fewer numbers than of late, the entry being principally wethers, and remainder light weight ewes. Lambs in full supply, anil wore a very fine lot. Only a few pigs came to hand. Cattle from £4 12s Od to £5, the different consignments averaging &l 143 to £5 4s (kl; sheep wethers, 10s lOd to lis 4d ; ewes, 7s 8d to 7s lOd ; lambs, 7s to 7s 6d ; pigs : baconers, £110s to £1 lis ; porkers, 15s to 19a; beef, 12s the 1001b ; wether mutton, 2d per lb ; ewe ditto, lid.
