The French and Italian Governments are arranging for a reciprocal commercial treaty. SPORTING ACTIONS. London, March 28. The sporting cases, Wood v. Cox and Wood v. the Earl of Durham, have been compromised : and it is possible the case of Chetwynd v. the Earl of Durham will be settled in a similar manner. These actions all arose out of the allegations made by the Earl of Durham against Sir G. Chetwynd's stable. ANGLO-COLONIAL FOOTBALL. London, March 28. Mr. Scott, manager of the Maori Football Team, states that he intends bringing out a stronger team composed exclusively of white colonists. THE CHARGE OF RITUALISM. London, March 28. The case against Dr. King, Bishop of Lincoln, charged with Ritualism, lias concluded. The Bench of Bishops reserved judgment. THE NEW BISHOP OF TASMANIA. London, March 28. Truth, referring to the recent appointment of the Rev. Hy. H. Montgomery to the Bishopric of Tasmania, says the rev. gentleman's ability is only of a mediocre order, and attributes his promotion to the influence of Canon Farrar. THE EMPEROR AND PRINCE BISMARCK. Berlin, March 28. The Emperor William was present at a dinner given by Prince Bismarck to the members of the Reichstag. TH]s ROUMANIAN THRONE. Bucharest, March 28. Prince Ferdinand, son# of Prince Leopold of Hohenzollern-Siguiaringen, and nephew cf King Charles of Rou< mania, has been publicly proclaimed heir to the Roumanian throne. MESSRS. DALGETTY AND CO. London, March 28. Messrs. Dalgetty and Co. have de clared a dividend of 8 per cent.
