BANKRUPTCY.
R. D. Giles.—Robert Daniel Giles, bank* rupt, was examined before the Official Assignee yesterday, and deposed that he had been in business as a butcher for sixteen years. He had taken a lease for, fifteen years of an allotment in the Market Square, and had built a shop at a cost of £470./. He paid his way for a few months, bat business steadily grew worse, and he had to file a petition of insolvency to avoid being sent to goal for non-payment of debts. His unsecured debts were £409 13s 6d, and the assets consist of the book debts, £226 5s 3d (estimated to be worth £10), a credit balance of 4s in the bank, and 30 shares in a local company which cost £30, now of doubtful value. He did not consider the lease, in the Market Square to be of any value to his creditors. f A petition of insolvency has been filed by Richard W. Brown, horse-trainer, Cambridge.
