ACTION FOR PERSONAL INJURIES.
[BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Monday. At the Supreme Court to-day, Alexander Michael claimed £200 damages from D. Reid and Co., for injuries sustained while loading his dray at defendants' store with oats, which were being passed down a shoot. The plaintiff claimed that owing to the negligence of the defendants in the construction of the shoot improperly and defectively, also owing to negligence of the defendants by their servant, one of the sacks fell against the plaintiff and broke his leg; that he was and is permanently injured, and likely to be for a long time prevented from attending to his business, and has incurred medical and other expenses. The evidence showed that the shoot was of the usual construction, except that only a bar was across. Tho man loading stated that tho plaintiff gave the word right" before the sack was let go. The jury gave a verdict for £100.
