THE SQUADRON.
Weather permitting, a second cricket match between H.M. Fleet and the Auckland Cricket Club will be played this afternoon, play commencing at half-past one. The fleet will be represented by fifteen, and tho club by eleven. Ib is likely that bho fine band of the Orlando will play selections during tho match. During the afternoon the pavilion will bo reserved for ladies and their friends. The following will represent the Auckland C.C.:—A. M. Bealo, W. H. V. Bindon, Dr. Cobbott. Dr. Davy, J. P. A. Gray, J. W. Hall, A. McDonald, W. F. Noakcs, C. H. Osmond, W. W. Robinson (captain), and J. Wakefiold; umpire, Mr. Crawford. An interesting rifle competition is to take place at the Mount Eden range this afternoon, commencing at two o'clock, between a team of citizens (ex-volunteers) and a team from tho squadron now in port. Fivo shots aro to be fired at 200 and 500 yards, with tho Martini-Henri and Snider rifles. The following will compose the Citizens' team : —Gascoigne, Harvey, W. H. Hazard, J. Leigh, E. S. V. Mowbray, J. Partington, Robinson, Tempest, W. Thorne, A. L. White; emergency, Trayee.
