THE TRUST "SCHEME."

The following is the correspondence referred to in yesterday's issue between Mr> Philip Hcrapath, a trustee, and Messrs. Hesketh and Richmond, solicitors, and also with his co-trustees respecting the undenominational trust fund involved in the " scheme" now before the Supreme Court : Re Women's Home and Reformatory. Auckland, January Bth, 1881). Messrs. Hesketh and Richmond : Dear sirs, —1 find that the " scheme " prepared by you does not contain what I was informed it did at the time of my signing, viz., provision for nou-donomi-uational management and investment of funds, as such is not the case, the whole being proposed to be vested in the Biahop of Auckland. This I consider contrary to the terms of the original trust, and I therefore cannot agree to such a course. If a clause be inserted in the document whereby the management of the institution and its funds be made representative, I will agree thereto— not otherwise. —Yours truly, P. Herajpath. Auckland January S, 1889.—Mr. Alexander. Dear Sir, —In the matter of the " scheme" proposed to be submitted to His Honor, Mr. J ustice Gillies, I wish it to be distinctly understood that, although I have signed the document, I hereby revoke the same, as I find that the advice of Messrs. Hesketh and Richmond as contained in the proposal, is really the imding over of the moneys subscribed for a " Home" under purely non-denominational management to one purely denominational. To this I cannot consent, and therefore I desire my name to' be removed; or a clause inserted in the "scheme," by which the management of the institution, together with the moneys subscribed for its support, shall be vested in a representative of each denomination contributing to thefunds thereof.—Yours truly, P. Heuapath.
