THE WEATHER. Sydney, December 17. As far as the south central districts are concerned, the drought has now broken up. Later. Rain has fallen in the southern districts, but it is fine elsewhere. In Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia the weather generally is fine. Brisbane, December 17. Heavy rain and thunder storms are prevalent over the greater portion of Queensland.
KILLED BY LIGHTNING. Sydney, December 17. A boy named Sheather was killed by lightning yesterday at Tarce, on the Manning River. At Bulli yesterday a man named Mulholland was killed by lightning. The storm was experienced generally over the colony, and was of unusual violence.
SHIPPING. Melbourne, December 17. Arrived: Fijian. Sydney, December 17. Arrived : S.s. Rotomahana, from Auckland.
