y-ICTORIOUS AGAIN! THE BUCKEYE LOWDOWN TAKES THE FIRST NEW ZEALAND PRIZE THIS SEASON. At the Wairarapa and East Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Show, held at Carterton on Nov. 1, considerable interest was shown in the reaper and binder exhibits. This is one of the two or three only shows in New Zealand which offers a prize In this class, and as cropping has increased with improved prices in the North Island, there was a very fair attendance. The entries catalogued were Hornsby, Massey, and Buckeye, but as the former, for some reason, did not put in an appearance, the two latter only came to the judges. After carefully examining each machine, the first prize was awarded the Lowdown Buckeye, chietiy on account of its superiority in raising and lowering, its simple knotter, and high knife speed. Speaking of the Show, the Wairarapa Star has the follow- j ing:— J One of the best exhibits was a Lowdown Buckeye Reaper and Binder, an implement that has never before been shown in the Wairarapa, containing a number of very valuable improvements on the reapers and binders hitherto used. One great improvement is its single canvas and knotter and its light draught and general efficiency; the simplicity of its mechanism, and smart, highly-finished appearance commanded the general attention of the farmers, with whom it appears to be in high favour. The judges very deservedly awarded it a first prize, sneaking at the same time of it in terms of the highest commendation. This very useful and pretty labour-saving implement whs exhibited by Messrs. E. W. Mills and Co." BUCKEYE LIGHT FOLDING ELEVATOR. The Buckeye was successful last season in taking the {south Australian Government's award at the Roseworthy Royal Agricultural College's field trial, beating the McCormack, Hornsby. Wood, Howard, and others. The following cables, referring to two of the principal agricultural and pastoral shows of Australia, will also be of service to buyers desirous of securing the best and most efficient harvesting machinery :— " Buckeye first at Echuca, beating McCormack, Hornsby, Wood, Massey, Deering, and all competitors, all the principal makers represented, and again on the '26th instant." 'Goulburu Valley and North-eastern Agricultural and Pastoral Show, Buckeye first. Woods second, McCormack third, beating Hornsby, Deering, Massey, and others." The Buckeye holds the trratid pastoral gold medal of Victoria 11876), beating Hornsby and McC nack. The Buckeye at Balaclava A.), fi trial on the '24th October, ISSS—beat Hornsby, Woods, Howard, and Osborne. The Buckeye Light Mower at the Adelaide official field trial last week secured first prize, beating Hornsby and all comers. T. & S. MORRIN & CO. (LIMITED), AUCKLAND. '
