Our Katikati correspondent writes:— Mr. Thomas G. Anderson, Jesmond, Katikati, met with a 'serious loss last week in the shape of a valuable draught mare, which was unfortunately killed by rushing against a plough handle whilst endeavouring to get into the stable. It seems that the animal charged blindly against one of the handles of a plough, from which the wooden casing had come off, the force of the impetus being so great that the chest of the unfortunate creature was regularly , transfixed by the iron, and death ensued within twenty minutes from the time of the I accident.
