THE CASE OF GAOLER O'BRIEN.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchdrch, Thursday. The Hon. T. W. Hislop has sent a reply to the resolution passed at the public meeting at Lyttelton, requesting further inquiry into the cause of Gaoler O'Brien's reduction and transfer, and states that the case has been fully investigated by Messrs. Beetham and Western, and also by the Minister of Justice. He is therefore unable to interfere in the matter.
