Early yesterday morning the ship Crusader Bet sail with a favourable breeze tor London direct, and rounding the North Head about 8 a.m., was soon speeding down channel on her long voyage. The schooner Maud Graham, which arrived on Wednesday night from Lyttelton, was yesterday berthed at the Railway Wharf, and began the discharge of her cargo of wheat. When she has unloaded, she will 1 take in general cargo for Te Kopunu having been chartered, through Messrs. C. F. James and Co., her Auckland agents, to convey a shipment of kauri from the mills there to Dunedin. Captain Fitzgerald expects that he will be finished discharging by Saturday. Punctually to her advertised time of sailing, the Union S.S. Co.'s Manapouri got away for Southern ports en route for Melbourne. She took a quantity of general cargo, and about 40 passengers. The schooner which was signalled yesterday evening, but has up to the present not made the harbour, is the Gleaner, from Brisbane, whence she sailed on September 26. She was anchored last night in the Outer Gulf and will probably come in this morning early. The s.s. lona arrived at an early hour yesterday morning from Tauranga and Mercury Bay, and after discharging cargo and disembarking passengers, sailed again at 8 a.m. for Great Barrier. At the Queen-street Wharf the ship Wairoa continued her discharge yesterday, and a large quantity of merchandise in fine condition was got out. The barque Rebecca is also discharging at the No. 2 jetty. The Island schooner Christine was cleared at the Customs and sailed yesterday evening for Norfolk Island and Noumea. She takes a quantity of general stores for the first-named place, while her freight for Noumea is made up of timber and joinery. We are pleased to state that her owner, Captain John McLiver, who was in a very weak state of health when he arrived here, has quite recovered, and went away with his vessel under his own charge. For her regular round to East Coast ports via Mercury Bay, the schooner Waiapu was taking in general cargo yesterday, and will probably get away early this morning. The brigantine Aratapu is now on her way so this port from Melbourne, the schooner Jessie Niccol will be shortly due from Uobarc, while the schooner Sarah Pile was ;o leave Tonga about this date for this port. The schooner Magellan Cloud will shortly proceed to the Thames to load up a cargo of timber for Brisbane. Shortly after 10 last night the s.s. Arawata arrived from Wellington with cargo and passengers ex the direct steamer Tongariro. She will discharge these to-day, and then take in cargo for Fiji, for which she is fixed to sail on Sunday next. Of the trip up the coast Mr. Walker, the purser, reports that the Arawata left Wellington at 6..'10 p.m. on the 9th, and cleared Cape Palliser at JO p.m.; Portland Island was abeam at 3 p.m. on the 10th, and the steamer rounded the East Cape at midnight; Cape Colville was abeain at 6.10 p.m. on the 11 th, and the Steamer was berthed at the wharf at 10.10 p.m. She experienced variable winds with tine weather to East Cape, thence strong S.W. winds to arrival.
