[FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENTS. J Hamilton, Friday. Amongst the arrangements made at the meeting of Waikato Cricket Club delegates was one for a match, Waikato v. Auckland, to be played during the Christinas or New Year's holidays. Mr. Stewart proposed thft it snould come off on .Sydney Square, as Hamilton possessed the _ best cricket ground in Waikato, but that, if so, the Hamilton Club must provide a dinner for the visitors. This the Hamilton delegates declined to do, and Mr. Stewart at once, on behalf of Cambridge, undertook to provide the dinner, and it was arranged that the match should take place there. Time was when Hamilton could afford to entertain its visitors right hospitably. Mr. William Salmon, who some months ago met with a severe accident by the fall of earth in a cutting on the Whatawhata Road, is, I regret to say, in a very precarious condition. He had never thoroughly recovered from the injury to the spine, and about a month ago the injury induced inflammation of the membrane of the brain, and this again has led to paralysis of the action of the stomach. Mr. Salmon was for a fortnight in the hospital, but receiving no benefit from the treatment there, came out and has since been treated bv Drs. Carey and Murch. < The first meeting of creditors in Mr. E. Gould's estate takes place to-morrow. The creditors are not numerous, They are as follow Liabilities : William Aitken, Auckland, £11,(XX), secured on the Waitoa property; unsecured, Joseph Gould, of ChristchurCh, merchant, £609 ; Ballantyneand Co., Christchurch, £5: Mrs. Charles Gould, Waitoa, £400; H. and J. Clifford, Morrinsville, £5; T. Bellamy, £10; W. Lusby, £10; W. Holtby. £4; and S. Burge, 1.8: total, *:12,042. Assets : Stock in trade, £200; book debts, £50; cash in hand, £2 15s ; furniture, £100; estimated value of Waitoa farm, £15,800 : total, £16,152 15s. Cambridge, Friday. Mr. H. Reynolds arrived yesterday from Auckland for the purpose of removing the refrigerating apparatus from the Butter Factory here, which he intends to use in his Fort-street factory premises at Auckland. The Paterangi Creamery has been leased this season by Mr. Reynolds. g§ Whatawhata, Friday. Mr. W. McLcish, jun., has taken over the Whatawhata Hotel from Mr. Dawson. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] Cambridge, Friday. At the R.M. Court to day, before Captain Jackson, R.M., several unimportant civil cases were disposed of. Four youths, named Samuel Bond, Arthur McCabe, Patrick MaGarry, and James Brown, were charged with molesting two young ladies in the Domain Grounds on the night of the Baptist soiree. The ringleaders, Bond and McCabe, were fined £2 and costs, or 14 days, and a fortnight was given them to pay tne fine. Brown and McGarry were discharged after being severely reprimanded by the Bench. David Parson, charged with obtaining board and lodging by false pretences from A. Bach, hotel-keeper, was remanded for seven days, bail being allowed. The presentation of Jubilee Testaments to the scholars of the public school took place this afternoon. The Ven. Archdeacon Willis presided. The Revs. Hooper, D.D., Evans, Kishworth, and Griffiths, were present, besides the School Committee and a number of leading residents and ladies. The Rev. Mr. Evans opened' with prayer. Archdeacon Willis and Mr. G. W. Russell gave addresses, after which the presentations were made, over 200 Testaments. The proceedings closed with the National Anthem, and the scholars gave cheers for the Queen, the visitors, the School Committee, and the teachers. Paeroa, Friday. Luke McDonald was charged to-day before Mr. Kenny, J.P., with being an idle and disorderly person, and was sentenced to 14 days. I When Constable Mitchell opened the ceil this morning, McDonald rushed at him, and i tried to escape in his shirt, but was immediately recaptured. He answers the description of Spaulding, the escapee from the Asylum, with whom he is supposed to be identical.
