Among the recent works presented to the Free Public Library is a curious volume published in London in 1864, containing facsimiles of the autographs of distinguished men, and also facsimiles of celebrated letters and documents. It is noticeable in this big cloud of depression now over us, how the prices of all classes of goods have fallen ; alarming sacrifices, startling reductions, and half-price sales meet us one very hand, but it is equally noticeable that without half-price sales, startling reductions, or alarming sacrifices, Goodson's London Arcade stands pre-eminently the cheapest place in Auckland for all the variety of goods that are to be found within the range of its alphabetical price list, obtainable upon application or posted to any address.— [Ad vt.] Much difficulty has been experienced by many people in obtaining really good butter. This need not be, as the London Dairy Co. retail the finest fresh butter produced in the Auckland province. Depdts at Victoriastreet and Mount Eden Road.
