Perth, August 11. In the country districts around Wyndham a serious disturbance occurred between the whites and the natives, an/' several of the former were murdered.

THE MINERS' DISPUTE.

Sydney, August 12. There is no sign whatever of the miners' difficulty being settled, and the outlook for the trade is gloomy. The miners at Newcastle have been unable to come to terms with the managers, and have given notice that after fourteen days from Monday they will go out on strike.

Melbourne, August 12. _ There is great consternation in the city at the threatened miners' strike at Newcastle, as there is only about a week's supply of coal in Melbourne.

THE SHIPPING DISPUTE.

Sydney, August 12. The Maritime Labour Council has fixed September 12 as the date when all vessels employing Asiatics must replace them wit! European crews, otherwise the Council will pursue similar tactics to those adopted in the case of the mail steamer Mariposa. Melbourne, August 12. The Maritime Labour Council and affiliated bodies have resolved to take a vote of members as to whether it is advisable that there should be a general strike throughout the colonies on the Northern Steamship question.
