GUN ACCIDENT NEAR KIHIKIHI.

Oi'R Kihikihi correspondent writes :—The half-caste William Doun, who was accidentally wouuded in the shoulder by the bursting of a gun a few days ago, is fast recovering. The natives were bringing the body of Polatau, the son of one of the head chiefs, to Rangiakia, when they were met by a tiring party from the settlement, which commenced tiring the usual salutes. Talma's gun burst, and a piece of iron from it struck Doun near the shoulder, burying itself in the flesh. Doun is, fortunately for himself, a very corpulent man, ami his obesity prevented the piece ox" iron from striking a vital point.
