RIOTS IN PARIS.
CONFLICT WITH THE POLICE. THE MOB FIRED UPON. THIRTY PERSONS INJURED. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Paris, August 8. There has been a renewal of rioting in this city. At the funeral of a leading Communist the mob became so demonstrative that the police were compelled to interfere. The officers were attacked and were compelled to draw their swords, and charge the mob. Order was not restored until the police used their pistols. Thirty persons were wounded in the conflict. The strike among the navvies is to be referred to arbitration, and the Parisian Corporations will acb as arbitrators. The riots at Amiens arose out of a strike of weavers. Paris, August 9. It appears that the disturbance referred to in a previous message was caused by the action of inflamed Communists who attended the funeral of a leading member of that party.
While the cortege was passing the police station a bomb was thrown at the building, but fortunately it did not explode. The police made numerous arrests in their sortie on the mob, who cried "Vive le Commune!" and "La Revolution !"
