[press association.] . , Capetown, July 26. A large force of Boers have invaded the Eharaas territory in the Transvaal, and a severe engagement took place with the natives. Mr. Sheppard, the British resident, has proceeded to the scene of the outbreak, for the purpose of making an enquiry into the matter, and resident Kruger has been invited to send a delegate to represent the Kepubhc, and confer with Mr. Sheppard. ■: . : \ . ■ Sir Hercules Robinson has received a cable message from the Imperial Government directing him to intimate to the Transvaal Executive that the districts of Matabele, Massuna, Makataka, and the country between the northern part of Khanias and Zambesi will be placed under British control.
