THE ATTEMPTED MURDER AT MOUNT EDEN.
BROWN COMMITTED TO THE LUNATIC ASYLUM.
The prisoner John Brown, who on Tuesday afternoon attempted the life of Mr. Robert Rutherford, the foreman of works at the Gaol, was yesterday brought down to Auckland, and was examined by Drs. Purchas and Dawson, and on their report Dr. Giles, Resident Magistrate, signed the order transferring Brown from Mount Eden Gaol to the Lunatic Asylum.
