CUTTING UP FRANCE.
THE NEXT WAR WITH GERMANY.
PRINCE BISMARCK'S SCHEME.
TREATY WITH BELGIUM. [press ASSOCIATION.] >
Paris, July 4. " Comte Paul Vasili," the nom, deplume of the author of several works on Society in the various capitals of Europe, writing in the Nouvelle Revue, states that Prince Bismarck has assured Signor Crispi, the Italian Premier, that in the event of a war, in which Germany proved victorious, she would not be desirous of adding to her territory ; but he believed that the disappearance of. France as a great Power would secure peace for many years. The writer also asserts that a treaty has been concluded with King Leopold, by which, in such an event, Belgium will receive French Flanders, Germany obtaining an equivalent in the shape of Dutch ports, but he does not mention what consideration Holland is to obtain.
