MR. HISLOPS VISIT TO AUCKLAND.
[by telegraph.— correspondent]. Wellington, Thursday. I understand that at the close of the session the Colonial Secretary (Mr. Hislop) will pay a visit to Auckland, to look into Asylum matters for his own personal satisfaction. He will probably go in company with Mr. Mitchelson, in order, -as the Native Department is to be abolished and attached to the Colonial Secretary's Department, that he may get the run of native matters, and have the business of the Department handed over to him. Mr. Mitchelson will then be in a position to devote his energies and ability to the task —a sufficiently arduous one in all conscience at the present juncture in the affairs of the colonyof railway administration.
