INDUSTRIAL EDUCATION.

SIR GEO. GREY'S VIEWS.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Wednesday. In a conversation with Sir George Grey he informed me that he had not yet fully formulated his scheme of introducing technical education or industrial training into the primary schools, but he intends to bring the matter forward before the House, and have it discussed at an early date. He states that in the early days of the colony the schools receiving Government aid were obliged to give industrial training 60 the children, and his plan is to revive the system again, so that the children may have some handicraft to fit them for the battle of life. Sir George informs me that so important is this class of education regarded in England, that an English nobleman, a friend of his, is having all his sons taught trades.
