SCRATCHINGS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION".] ] Christchurch, Tuesday. Carbine has been scratched for the Melbourne Cup, and Silence and Lady Florin for the New Zealand Cup. ISLAND BAY PARK COMPANY. Ellington. Tuesday. The balance-sheet of the Island Bay Park Company shows a total indebtedness of £730, which, with liabilities for the ensuing year of £490, gives a total of £1220, the only convertible assets being £120, leaving a deficiency of £1100. The directors consider some scheme should be adopted to preserve the property, which has already cost the present shareholders £9000. The directors recommend an inI crease of capital by £5000 in £1 shares. The annual meeting lapsed for want of a I quorum.
