About 7 o'clock yesterday morning the Island steamer Richmond came into port from her regular trip to Tahiti, Tonga, etc., with a full cargo and as many passengers as she could accommodate. She berthed at the Railway Wharf, and is now rapidly discharging her inward freight. Captain Hutton furnishes the following report of the steamer's movements during the round trip : —" Left Auckland May 22nd at 1 p.m. with fine weather, which we had until arrival at; Tonga on the 27th June; discharged cargo and left next day for Samoa. H.M.S. Egeria, which was awaiting our Arrival in Tonga, left the same day as ourselves, bound for Auckland. We arrived at Apia, Samoa, on 2nd June. Discharged cargo ana landed passengers, and left on the 4th for c Papeete, arriving at same on the 10th June, after a fine weather passage. Discharged cargo and left on the 14th for Tautira, where we loaded a fine cargo of pearl shells, cocoa- • nuts and oranges, leaving for Auckland, via Rarotonga and Tonga, on the 18th June. We called at Rarotonga on the 21st, and took on board part cargo of pineapples. We left Rarotonga on same evening and reached Tonga on Tuesday morning, 26th June, where we finished our loading, taking in 2000 bunches bananas, and took our final departure for Auckland the next day, arriving as above after a, very fine passage of six days." . For Russell and Opua the Union S.S. ' Co.'s Te Anau left yesterday evening to coal. She will return to port to-morrow morning. *On the 2nd ult. the German gunboats Adele and Eva, and the American warship Mohican, were at anchor in Apia harbour, Samoa, while the U.S.S. Adams made that port on the 3rd ult. " The ship Shannon, which some little time back put into Papeete in a badly leaking condition, while en route from Newcastle to' Wilmington, U.S., with coal, has, despite the strenuous efforts of Captain Mitchell and his crew, been found to be beyond repair, and has Deen condemned and sold. Messrs. oalmon Bros., of Papeete, were the purchasers, and they at once started to dis- ■ mantle the ship. Captain Mitchell and the crew were passengers to this port by the s.s. Richmond. n Yesterday evening the Northern S.S. Lo. s Wellington left at her usual hour for ■ Whangarei, with a full cargo.of general goods and. a good number of passengers. • 'or her regular round of Bay of Plenty ports the s.s. Douglas sailed yesterday evening. .The Union S.S. Co.'s Suva took her departure yesterday evening for her usual fortnightly trip to East Coast ports and Wellington, with passengers and a cargo of general ■ tores and sundries. Captain Attwooll, of the barque Coulna•Kyle, has not yet taken any steps concerning the overhauling of his vessel, as he is awaiting instructions from the owners in Sydney In regard to the repairs that were effected to the barque during her recent docking, Captain Clayton, one of thesurveyers, states that these were supervised by, and executed to the satisfaction of Captain Mackay, the owner's agent, who came from Sydney for that pujn ipose, and that the present leaky condition of the vessel must be due to the violence of . gale met with on the 18th ult.

The Northern S.S. Co.'s Rowena sa.iledyesterday evening for Hokianga, whence she will run regularly in the West Coast trade in place of the Argyle. WRECK OF THE LILLIAN. On the 9th May, at 4 o'clock in the morning, the French schooner Lillian, owned by Captain Piltze, and well-known in Auckland, went on the reef at Mauke, an island of the Harvey Group, and became a tota.l wreck, though all hands were fortunately saved. The Lillian had in her cargo, valued at £800 sterling, and Captain Piltze valued the schooner at £1200, so that he has therefore a loss of £2000, as he was not insured. Captain Piltze and crew were subsequently taken off Mauke by the Tongan schooner Sandfly, and landed in Rarotonga. The former has gone to Papeete to charter a schooner to continue his trading voyage. THE JULIA PRYCE LOST. Intelligence came to hand yesterday by the s.s. Richmond of the loss of the well-known Auckland schooner Julia Pryce, which went ashore on a reef at Itutaki about the Ist of June last, during a heavy gale. Captain ; Clarke states that the vessel was about half lull of copra and limejuice when she was stranded, and as his crew was powerless to shift the schooner, and the natives demanded 1 exorbitant terms for their assistance, he had no option but to dismantle her of all moveables, and sell her. She realised 157 dollars, being purchased by the natives, who were, when the captain left, making inefficient efforts to get her off the reef and repair her. She had six planks stove in on her bilge, and he considered that they would not be able to repair her well enough to take her to port.
