THE REDUCTION ACCEPTED.
[BY TELKGRAPH.—SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT. Wellington, Saturday. I understand thatjthough thellome authorities are opposed to the reduction of the Governor's salary, they accept the decision of the New Zealand Legislature. They expreps a fear of having some difficulty in getting suitable officers at the figure now set down, ass the Governor is expected to exercise considerable hospitality to dintinguished , visitors passing through, and only gentlemen of ample private means can do so. It iis said the Governors of New South Wales and Victoria have to spend, through this custom, considerably more than their salaries.
