The economy that would be effected by raising the school age is so transparent that nothing need be said to illustrate the advantages of the proposal. But a good example is furnished in the application of the headmaster of the Hastings-street side-school. That school has not been built eighteen months, and now more floor space is wanted. If, however, the school age were raised to seven years, there would be ample accommodation- at the Napier schools for years to come, and a large saving ■would be effected in capitation allowances. —•Napier Telegraph.
