THE TORY PARTY.
DISSENSIONS IN THE RANKS. J
[press association.]
London, June 22. At a meeting of Conservatives to-day, the Marquis of Salisbury reminded his followers that they were in a minority. He upbraided those members who had created a disunion of the party, and the recent defeat in Parliament, he said, was embarrassing. A dissenting member should privately agree not to oppose the Government. An animated discussion followed, disclosing a serious divergence of opinion among the party. It was decided to revise the amendments proposed to the Local Government Bill.
