A feeble looking old man, who appeared in the dock at Worship - street Police Court, London, a few days ago, piped in a shaky voice, '' What he says is true." The "he" was Constable 202 H. According to his statement, shortly after ten o'clock one night, the prisoner met him in Commercial-street, and having explained that as some policeman had kicked him he meant to " have it out of the first policeman he met"—struck him in the chest. "Did he hurb you ?" queried the magistrate, somewhat amused. "I feel the blow now, sir," said the stalwart policeman. "And he a feeble old man !" remarked Mr. Hannay. " Well," said the old fellow afc this point, by way of explaining, " I'd been to a police station because someone had got my boots, and they would not give them to me, and one of the policemen kicked me oub. I then said I'd have it out of the first man I met outside, and that was this man so I hit* him. I haven't got my boots yet, so I must hit the next policeman I meet." (Laughter.) "I think you had better not," advised Mr. Hannay. "I fine you 10s, or seven days' imprisonment." " Oh 5 I shan't pay that," said the old fellow, laughing, "so I'll d n the seven days."
