London, June 5. The Dacoits in Burmah are troublesome. They attacked some Burmese, killing many. Mr. Powell, engaged surveying the recently-acquired Burmese territory, was attacked and murdered by the Dacoits.

Melbourne, June 6. The English Anti-Vivisection Society have, through the Agent - General, warned the Government against the introduction of M. Pasteur's rabbit disease into the colony, on the grounds that it would be fatal to birds, and that the wholesale slaughter of rabbits is inimical to the health of human beings. The society state they have taken the opinion of several medical gentlemen on the question, and they say there is reason to fear an outbreak of pestilence from putrefying rabbits killed by cholera.
