■ Meetings. __ mHE INDUSTRIAL AND PROVIDENT PERMANENT BUILDING, LAND AND INVESTMENT SOCIETY OF AUCKLAND. The Half-yearly General Meeting of the abovenamed Society will be held in the Society's Offices on MONDAY, the 25th day of June next, at eight o'clock in the evening. THE INDUSTRIAL AND PROVIDENT PERMANENT BUILDING, LAND, AND INVESTMENT SOCIETY OF AUCKLAND. In compliance with requisition, I hereby convene a SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING of the abovenamed Society, to be held immediately after the Half-yearly General Meeting on June 25th pros., to consider the proposed alterations and additions to tho Rules contained in the said requisition as under Rule 7.T0 alter same by adding the following proviso:—" Provided that the Board shall have power to suspend the issue of Shares at any time it may think fit." To adopt the following new Rule, to be numbered 24 A— " Reserve Fund.—For the purpose of meeting any contingencies that may arise, and of equalising Dividends, a Reserve Fund shall be made, consisting of all entrance fees and such other sums as the Board (whose decision shall be final and binding upon all shareholders and other persons) may from time to time, at any ordinary or special meeting of the Board, determine 'on, provided that whenever the amount at the credit of the Reserve Fund shall be in excess of 5 per cent of the then present Value of Mortgages as attested by the Auditors, such excess shall be divided according to Rule 25." Rule 26.— alter samo by adding after the word profits in the fifth line of the said Rule the words following in parenthesis (save and except the Reserve Fund, and the sum set apart therefor, but subject to the preceding Rule), and by striking out the words any of in the 3rd line of the 3rd Subsection, and by adding after the word payments in the 4th line of tne 3rd Subsection thereof tho words so that they are fineable." Rule 41.—T0 alter same by adding after the word all in the 23rd line of tho said Rule the words " fines, interest and," and by adding after the word instrument in the 25th line of the said Rule the words " from the time of such default till payment or sale." To adopt the following new Rule, to be numbered 42A. -Further covenants and powers implied in Mortgages. In every Mortgage there shall be implied the following covenants and powers— That the Mortgagor shall and will during the continuance of the Security keep the mortgaged premises and every part thereof respectively, or cause the same respectively to be kept in good substantial repair, and that it shall be lawful for the Society, or its Officers, Agents, or Surveyors, at lawful and reasonable times, to enter into and upon the mortgaged premises, and view the state of repair and conditions thereof, and of any defect in the repair or condition thereof to give notice to the Mortgagor, who shall thereupon, with all reasonable speed, cause the same to be amended; provided always, and it is hereby agreed and declared, that In case the Mortgagor shall refuse or neglect to make within a reasonable time the repairs required to be made by the said notice, it shall be lawful for the Society thereupon, or at any time thereafter, to enter upon the said premises with all necessary builders, workmen, add other persons, plant, and materials, and to commence and complete the said repairs in such manner and in all respects as the Society may in its absolute discretion think proper, but at the cost of the Mortgagor, and the Mortgagor shall and will repay on demand all such moneys as tho Society shall have expended in making such repairs, with interest for the same at the rate of ten pounds per centum per annum, from the time of so paying the same until such repayment ; and tnat in the meantime and until the same shall be so repaid with interest as aforesaid, the mortgaged premises shall stand and be charged with the payment of all such sums and the interest thereon, but without prejudice to the Society's right to recover all such sums and interest by action or other proceedings in law. And it is hereby declared that the Society shall be in nowise responsible for any loss which may happen in or about the exercise, or in consequence of the omission to exercise, any of the powers herein contained, or otherwise in relation to the premises. Rule 60.—T0 alter same by adding thereto the following words, "or who is a member of the Committee or Board of Directors of any other Building Society." Rule 73.—T0 alter same by striking out the word "twenty" in the last line thereof, and substituting therefor the word " ten." Rule 74. —To make similar alteration herein. Rule &i.— alter same by striking out all words preceding the Table of Fines, and substituting therefor the words following : " When and so ofi.cn as any member shall neglect to pay his subscriptions or re-payments for four weekly paydays, the member so neglecting shall be fined weekly for each subscription or repayment in arrear (commencing on the fifth week after default), according to the following scale and to add at end of rule, after " shares," " and for any longer period."
