A J.P.'s WIFE ARRESTED.
DISTRESSING CASE.

Melbourne, April 23. Mrs. Rappeport, wife of Mr. Rappeport, J. P., has been arrested on a charge of stealing jewellery, the property of the wife oi the Hon. Simon Fraser, in January last. The accused suffers from nervousness, and is not responsible for her actions. The shock of being arrested has prostrated her so much that her life is despaired of, and in consequence the charge has been withdrawn. The arrest caused a great sensation.
