POLICE COURT.Saturday. [Before Mr. S. Y. Collins, J.P.J Drunkenness.—James Murphy was fined 5s and costs, or twenty-four hours' imprisonment. » Breach of Police Offences Act. Samuel Ritchie was fined 20s and costs for being drunk while in charge of a horse and cab in Queen-street. Obtaining Money on False Pretences, —James Madden was charged with having, on the 22nd of March, at Wellington, uttered a valueless cheque, whereby he J§ft obtained £1 from. Joseph L. Kimbell, with ■ ■ intent to defraud Accused was 'remanded to Wellington. *Bail allowed, himself in £100, and two sureties of £50 each. Indecent Assault. — Henry Thornton Rowe was charged with indecently assaulting at the Thames one Emily Maud Howe, his daughter, being under the age of A twelve. Accused was remanded to the * Thames. Bail allowed, himself in £200, and two sureties of £100 each. Mr. Brassey appeared for accused. Mr. Broham, Inspector, appeared in Court for the first time, and conducted the prosecutions on behalf of the police.
