There have been three sales of fruit and produce; all have been well attended, and good prices obtained. One sale of drapery, Ac. : The attendance was pood, hut few buyers. Four furniture sale*, one at mart, three at private houses : At each there was a fair attendance, and prices satisfactory. The sale at Mr. George Smyths, Hepburnstreet, on Wednesday, was very largely attended, and prices realised were good. Produce : The supply has not been quite so treat as for some time past;' all cleared out at fair prices, except some second-class corned butter and cheese, for which there is but little demand. Fruit : The supply of soft kinds has dropped off considerably, but few pears to to hand. There has been an advance in price all round. Poultry has come to hand in very large numbers. Yesterday was the largest sale since Christmas. Many of these were too young for present use, therefore prices were not high; large, good-condition cockerels sold well. lMgs : A good number entered : prices ruled low. Poultry came to hand in fair quantities, and prices were fairly satisfactory. Bacon and hams of prime quality were inquired for, but high prices a-ked prevent good sales being made. The sale of household furniture and effects at Onehunga, on Monday last, was well attended, and satisfactory prices resulted.

.Mil. ALEXANDER aitken's WEEKLY REPORT.— Business for the past week Las been very brisk. Larue quantities of produce have been quitted at advance prices, and all lines show :t considerable improvement in prices, while the week's sales on the whole have been very satisfactory. Potatoes have improved : the prices rulincat the'eomuienceuient of i the week were £2 ss, and at the latter end as high as £3 was obtained tor really good samples. Onions also show an improvement. Butter, both salt ami fresh, of good quality, has also advanwd in value. Good new cheese is also in active demand at advanced rates. An entire clearance has been effected in all the above lines ; cheese and fresh butter have found buyers as soon as received ; pood fruit has taken a slight rise, inferior sorts still low, large supplies still coming to hand.
