WANGANUI ANNUAL REGATTA.
Wanganui, Tuesday. The annual regatta was held to-day. The weather was boisterous and rainy in the forenoon, but cleared up later sufficiently to allow all the events to be rowed, except the championship, which will be rowed tomorrow. Maiden Fours, one mile, prize, £6 : Wellington Rowing Club, 1 ; Union Boating Club, 2 ; Star Boating Club, 3. Easy win for Wellington. Ladies' Plate, 1£ miles ; prizes £10, and £2: Wellington Rowing Club, 1 ; Blenheim Rowing Club, 2. Another easy win for Wellington. The Double Sculls was an easy win for the Star Club. Junior inrig, l£miles; prizes £8 and £2 : Star Boating Club, 1 ; Wellington Rowing Club, 2, Blenheim Rowing Club, 3. A good race, the Star winning by very little from Wellington, who rowed a good race. Senior Inrigger, two miles; prizes £15 and £5: Star Boating Club, 1 ; Wellington Rowing Club, 2; Wanganui Rowing Club, 3. A very good race between Star, Wellington, and Wakatu, who finished fourth, Wanganui coming up at the finish. Scullers' Race, 14 miles ; prize £0. Mackay, 1; Copeland, 2. This proved an easy win for Mackay.
